Ealing Cougars 29 - 14 Imperial College
Date: 19-11-2011 14:30
Type: Match
Section: Adults

Ealing Cougars started the half fast with a quick try from some good forwards work seeing Des Crinion going over for the try within 10min of the start of the game. The Cougars gave away the lead to Imperial through 2 quick tries. Imperial who were very dangerous and determined put the Cougars on the back foot. There was quiet a lot of blood stoppages which saw some movement around in positions and Imperial were the first to crack being given a yellow card and having to go down to 14 men. The Cougars provided a good platform with a solid scrum and good attacking line out work and jumped on the 1 man advantage to cross the line again. To then go into half time 2 points down.

The Cougars started the quicker of the two sides in the second half and were switched on from the kick pinning Imperial in their half and the Cougars were awarded with a quick try.

This seemed to spur the Cougars into life as they started to show their good defensive work and holding out the opposition from scoring on three occasions. Getting the ball into Imperials 22 the Cougars started to show signs of why they are the current champions and scored two more quick tries through the backs, with Adam Hulmston and Des Crinion spearheading the attacks through the middle, with great leadership from Olly Miller and some great runs from a number of the backs and forwards to mention Ben O’Shea & Hamed El Sharkawi battering at the oppositions line. The Cougars continued their assault and eventually were rewarded fifth try of the game.

Some good pressure and great defending saw the Cougars shut out the second half not allowing Imperial College Old Boys to score a point, finishing the game 29 - 14 with a man down from a late card

Man of The Match: Olly Miller
