A resounding start to the season by the 3^rd XV, on a warm, sunny, dry afternoon at Harrow.

Brought into focus in the warm-up, the players came out ready to go and hit the ground running twice in the first 10 minutes.  Harrow came back a couple of minutes later, which gave them a bit of impetus and they held out for the next 12 minutes, then the doors opened and 1871 scored 5 tries in 10 minutes, and converted 4 of them.

In the second half sloppy play from 1871 giving away 4 penalties, one of which was a yellow card, gifted Harrow a penalty try.  Following that score, Harrow got themselves together and had a bit of a fight back, scoring and converting two more tries.

Overall, however, 1871 were just too much for Harrow with real strength up front and some good pace out wide causing too many problems.  1871 also used the age-old adage of playing to the referees’ whistle and were able to score easily as a result, on three separate occasions.

A good game to open the season campaign for 1871 3^rd XV with some players showing real potential to push for a 2^nd XV spot.
