A good warm up plus a no complacency mindset set the platform for a fast start and from KO we clearly demonstrated how superior 1871 were going to be in this encounter. A new record for 1871 I think saw the bonus point try scored in the 12th minute!

The 1871 discipline (simply excellent) against a very niggly and at times frustrated Datchworth team was very telling. We let our rugby do the talking and the interplay between forwards and backs all day was sumptuous at times, the scoresheet shows both sets adding to the impressive scoreline.

A special mention goes to MotM Milkman Luke for keeping his discipline against antagonistic opposition; carrying, support running and tackling with equal intensity, oh don't forget scoring two well deserved tries.

Highlight of the game for me seeing Reggie and Toby dealing with the No.9 by a twos up tackle, picking him up, driving him nearly 10 yards backwards before both pile driving him to the floor all totally legally!!! Got a great cheer from all spectators!

Another emphatic win for 1871 will keep Brunel looking over their shoulders constantly and build pressure for them not to err!
