A really stop/start game of rugby, that could have gone either way had it not been abandoned just before the 70 minute mark. Lots of good energy to start and some confidence in the group, a positive warm up and game tactics to utilise Plan B to keep the ball away from the Fijian Backline that Ickenham were keen to utilise.

Highlights

The practise during training of Plan B was put into action and did work but poor ball protection and retention in the contact saw 1871 cough up the ball when in the Ickenham red zone numerous times.

Carlos and Toby carried and tackled hard with Toby earning MotM.

Quickey put in probably one if not the only master class tackle I have ever seen him make which excited the crowd especially some of his womens team! The cries of “he's our coach” were magnificent in their support.

Workons

Ball protection, presentation and retention.

First up tackles

Ruck clearance

Kick chase in numbers (fill the field)

At the end of the day, it was one that got away!!

Scorers

Sean MacCarthy try, Alex Adide conversion
