In a friendly against Herts Middlesex Division 1 side Old Actonians, Ealing Amateurs recorded their twelfth straight win since the start of the season, playing with fluency and confidence and running in ten tries.

Ealing went on the attack straight from the kick-off, and dominant forward play eventually led to a try by flanker John Worthington, converted by centre Jonathan Murphy. On 12 minutes it was the turn of the backs to punch a hole in the opposition defence before No 8 Tom Bignell made a break and gave a scoring pass to full back Tom Riddell, with Murphy again adding the extras. A third try followed a few minutes later when Murphy ran a good line to take the ball at pace from fly half Alex Gillespie and dot down between the posts. Before the first half-hour was up Murphy was on the score sheet again, cutting back inside and evading some half-hearted tackles to once again touch down between the posts. With four tries on the board, all converted, Ealing looked to have already sealed the win. However, missed tackles led to a sustained attack by Actonians, who finally worked an overlap to reduce the lead at half-time to 28-7.

Ealing started the second half much like the first, and a succession of pick-and-goes produced a second try for Worthington, once again converted by Murphy. Territorial advantage was more evenly shared for a time with Ealing playing against the breeze, but flanker Des Crinion conjured a try from an innocuous-looking situation by beating a tackle and accelerating past the remaining defenders. Bignell then picked up from the base of a scrum and fed replacement winger Alex Adide, whose break led to a second try for Riddell, converted by Gillespie. Soon after the re-start a spilt ball in the Actonians three-quarter line was hacked on by Gillespie for left wing Stewart Park to collect and touch down. There was still time for two more scores, one a hat-trick try for Riddell following neat passing along the back line and the other by Alex Hazell far out on the left.
