I, dimly, recall Mickey's first game for Ealing. At the following selection meeting captain Paul "Rupert" Foreman was asked how he played. "Dunno really" he said, "he walked from scrum to scrum but I think he was doing alright as his prop opponent kept rubbing his shoulder".
RIP Mickey.

Sad news. Mickey always had a look of content on his face, whether having just destroyed his opponent or with a pint in his hand. Lovely man. RIP.

A quiet, strong man, always the person to depend on to be behind the bar at Berkeley Fields, back in the day, when nobody else was available. RIP Mickey x

Great club man, will be sadly missed by all who knew him. RIP Mickey.

We say farewell to one of the great servants of the Club, who was literally an immoveable prop on the field, a capable and willing administrator sustaining the Club for the future, and a charming companion with a glass in his hand. Thanks for everything Mickey.

Mickey was a fine prop and character and had the uncanny knack of knowing where the next scrum would be, as he was always there first.
Rest in peace big man.

Lucky to have shared many a beer with Mickey, and I remember fondly the two of us running the "outside bar" at Horsenden Hill for the Law Society sevens one year. One of the nicest blokes I've known.

RIP Mickey.

A quiet guy, but very strong & reliable bloke who was a great servant of the Club. A lovely man. RIP.

There will be a mighty party in Tralee.

RIP Mickey. God bless.

That's very sad. Top guy.

RIP Mickey.

Very sad. RIP Mickey.

RIP Mickey.

Great man. Ealing scored over 100 points in a game, when it was the old school scoreboard with two hooks. Mickey held the much needed 1 in his lap. Legend RIP.

Sad news, real club man and a nice fella.

Really sad news.

RIP Mickey.

Sad to hear, was a real Ealing man.

Have to concur with the previous comments. He had a quiet strength that spoke volumes. A great Club man on the field and off it - he will be missed.

I had the great pleasure of playing with Mickey many times. He was totally dependable to do his job. A true team player which he continued to be once his playing days were over. He will be much missed.

Mick was a great friend and front row mentor for me from my days as a youngster playing seniors with the likes of Aidan Cooney, Lyndon Foote. Forbes McCrirrick and of course Mickey himself - he was def my Defence against the Dark Front Row arts teacher!!

He ran a great bar at Berkeley Fields and was our original hi tech match scoreboard.  We shared a great love for Ireland and Munster Rugby messaging each other on a weekly basis on the ups and downs of the teams - I’m missing that already with no Munster v Toulon analysis hitting my inbox on Sunday last!!

God bless you Michael, rest in peace Mo Chara!
