General

Scottish had no props so it was agreed they would play with 14 men and the scrums had to go uncontested form the start of the game. They had come with 20 players and said they had asked if this was ok but apparently had no reply. We confirmed only 3 subs.

First half

We dropped the ball early on and Scottish punished us for this with a try early. We made some suspect decisions early on and Scottish once again punished us for this. Scottish tries came from our mistakes in the first half.

We tried to play a fast game but with Scottish stacking their scrum with mostly backs as it was uncontested scrum was not a great idea. Once again, the penalty count killed us (8 in the first half).

We had a bad day in the office with the ref making a number of very poor decisions, this got under the boy’s skin, and we spent more time worried about his suspect calls than playing the game.

Second Half

The second half started like the first half with penalties which didn’t help us.

By the second half the boys where more concerned about the ref's decisions than the game and we unfortunate kept trying to run at Scottish instead of keeping the ball with the forwards.
