Ealing Cougars moved into the next round of the North West Middlesex Floodlit Cup with a comprehensive victory over Old Merchant Taylors.
The Cougars arrived late for kick off due to some directional issues and only had 8 minutes to warm up and this was reflected in a poor first half where the only score came from Denis Manterola who showed good feet and good hands to race in at the corner.
The Cougars stepped things up in the second half and another try came from Stuart Miller who popped up on the blind side to score. The next try was scored by Andy Jack (Welcome back the Ginger Ninja!!) who showed typical great feet but seemed to run into a cul-de-sac before finding a way to the line. another great bit of vision from Andy Jack saw him put a crossfield kick up and Denis Manterola collected it in the other corner for his second try of the match.Ash Gillard added the conversion.
A good break and good feet by Andy jack created a big hole in the opposition defence for Eoghan O'Sullivan to meander through and scored untouched by the opposition (which was a major miracle considering the size of his backside!)
Eoghan O'sullivan scored a second try minutes later after great work from man of the match Denis Manterola who had been switched to outside centre, showed great feet and a dummy to cut through the opposition and could've scored himself but put Eoghan in for his second and final try of the match. Ash Gillard completed the scoring with the conversion.
Ealing will now meet West London at Vallis Way in The quarter Finals on 13th March. Next up is a vital away match at London New Zealand on 20th Feb.
