Ealing Cougars won a tough encounter against a Chiswick side who are unbeaten in the league below us.

In a game we were expected to win having beaten Chiswick soundly earlier on in the season,The Cougars were guilty of taking the opposition too lightly and Chiswick looked up for the game. The Cougars scored first through Keir Wenham-Flatt powering past his opposite winger to score.

Chiswick responded with a try under the post which was converted to make the score 7 - 5. The Cougars started to put patterns of play together and it was only a matter of time before another score came. A try from no.8 James Moorecroft after a sustained period of pressure came in the corner and was converted by Andy Jack. Another try from  Owen Price quickly followed and the Cougars were now getting into their stride.

At halftime the ref decided to even the game up and this caused the Cougars no end of problems as Chiswick were allowed to slow down the Cougars ball and stop our pressure. The Cougars responded in the right way and started putting quick phases together and two more scores followed from James Moorecroft Keir Wenham-Flatt handing off his winger to race the length of the pitch to score his second try and Brian Kennedy.  The ref gifted Chiswick a try when James Moorecroft suffered a serious knee injury and the ref allowed play to continue while Cougars players signaled for a stoppage.

A good performance by the Cougars under difficult circumstances and the loss of a key player for the rest of the season.

Trys: Keir Wenham-Flatt 2, James Moorecroft 2, Owen Price, Brian Kennedy
