A wet and windy day meaning the elements were going to be the dictator today. A good and strong start for 1871 but a distinct loss of shape and structure at around the 20-minute mark allowed Grasshoppers back into the game. Hoppers started well at the beginning of the 2nd half, but 1871 came on strong immediately afterwards and maintained that strength around the park, aided by very powerful running by both Sean MacCarthy and Aidan Jones.

Hoppers managed to pull one back at the end, to secure a 4 try bonus point.
