Ealing 1871 2nds completely dominated proceedings on a dull September day, running in a total of twelve tries. The early exchanges were well contested, suggesting an even contest, with Hackney using their forwards to attack the Ealing line. Ealing eventually moved upfield but conceded a scrum penalty and after 5 minutes had spent most of the time in their own half. However, a run out of defence by centre Josh Steadman put them on the front foot, leading to a penalty close to the visitors' line. Ealing opted for a scrum and the confidence proved justified with No 8 Matt Donnelly touching down at the base, with 8 minutes gone. A few minutes later an overlap allowed wing Toby Holt to draw the last man and pass to outside centre Lewis Steadman for his first score of the day, converted by Harrison Slater. With a quarter of the game gone and the home side increasingly dominant, fly-half Slater side-stepped his way to the line and converted his own try, before slick offloading led to the best try of the day, scored by flanker George Reed. On the half-hour mark Lewis Steadman cantered home from distance for his second of the day, and he completed his hat-trick in similar fashion just a minute later. Despite suffering an injury, Hackney enjoyed a good spell just before the break, but were prevented from scoring by solid Ealing defence.

The improvement by the visitors continued after the restart, but Holt added his name to the scoresheet on 47 minutes, and replacement fly-half Khrys Speed pushed the score over the half-century mark. A panicky floated pass in the Hackney midfield was seized on by Lewis Steadman, and his brother fellow centre Josh picked up the loose ball and scampered home. Full-back Kyle Beck was next to score, followed by Dominic Taylor. After Beck added his second, the referee blew to end the game 10 minutes early.
