Ealing Cougars kept up their winning streak to make it nine wins in a row with a very bruising encounter with London New Zealand.

The opposition started the better and for the first fifteen minutes the Cougars never saw the ball but had to put in some very stout tackling to keep LNZ at bay. The Cougars finally sucumbed and gave a way a penalty which LNZ converted to make it 3 - 0 at halt time. In the second half the Cougars fought back and a good passage of play and sustained pressure lead to a blindside break from a five metre scrum and scrum half Gabriel De Gregorio going over for a try which was converted by Andy Jack.

LNZ fought back and the Cougars inability to keep up sustained pressure or clear their lines let LNZ back into the game. The oppo charged down a kick and a managed to force their way over in the corner to make the score 8 -7 to LNZ. The Cougars finally found their form and forced LNZ back into their own 22 and some great pick and drives ended with James Elliott going over just by the posts with ten minutes to go. LNZ would not lie down and for the last ten minutes of the game the Cougars were forced to defend their line and there were some sterling efforts in defence and the Cougars managed to hold out for a somewhat lucky victory. In truth we've played better but sometimes you need a little bit of luck and the Cougars showed great spirit in grinding out a result even when not at their best.

There will be tougher tests this season but not by much!
