Ealing Cougars recorded a tough fought win over a very Fijian looking Civil Service side. The Cougars started well and scored early after a driving maul with Jon Harrison going over. This was the only score of the half with the Cougars going close on a couple of occaisions only to turn over possesion and let Civil off the hook. Civil had two players sinned binned for persistent foul play but the Cougars were unable to capitalise of the numerical advantage.
In the scond half the Cougars again started fast and scored an early try through wing Brynn Murihead. The Cougars were again guilty of squandering good chances to score but were in complete control of the game. Further tries came from good foward play and the Cougars stepped up the pace of the game and had Civil Service clinging on and the inevitable trys came from Andy Jack and a strong solo try from captain John Haigh to round off the scoring.
