Type: Match
Section: Adults

Ealing Cougars came through difficult conditions to keep their winning run going but still slipped to 2nd in the table on points difference.

Imperial started well and had The Cougars pinned in their own half for long spells in the first half but couldn't score.A break out of our 22 and a great passage of play saw Ealing stopped in the opposition 22 where they conceded a penalty kicked by Wayde Kelly. This was then followed up by a quick try in the corner by Eoghan O'Sullivan.
The Cougars began to exert their strength and power on the opposition and after a sweeping move started in the Cougars 22 they scored under the posts with Des Crinion touching down. Imperial College replied with a try. The Cougars responded with another quick converted try from Owen Price which made the score at half time 22 - 5.

The Cougars started the 2nd half strongly and quickly took control of the game, driving the oppostion back and every attempt but it was the opposition that scored first with an unconverted try. The Cougars responded and scored the try of the match again starting in their own 22 and involving almost every player, finished off in great style with 2nd rower Matt Sinderbury outpacing the oppostion backline to score under the posts. The Cougars pack was starting to dominate and the always dangerous backs were beginning to cut a tired Imperial College defence to pieces and there should have been more tries but for some mistakes from the Cougars. Another try came from sub Alex Gilespie after another dominant passage of play, followed by another penalty before Andy Jack completed the scoring with a determined effort in the corner.

Special mentions should go to Brendan O'Shea who stepped in at prop and had a very good game, Eizo Higashi making his debut at hooker and veteran player Jonathan Murphy who was always dangerous and made several line breaks.
