Ealing Cougars gained revenge for one of their only two defeats of the season by beating a strong and resilient Rosslyn Park side. In what was a slightly flattering result for the home side The Cougars were happy to come away with a convincing win against 3rd placed Rosslyn Park.

The Cougars started slowly and were put under a lot of early pressure by Rosslyn Park. Only some resolute defending saw the Cougars turn over the Park attack and against the run of play the Cougars powered forward and scored a try from flanker Braddan Webber, Converted by Andy Jack. The Cougars were then awarded a penalty just inside the opposition half which was slotted by Andy Jack. The Cougars now buoyed by their early success stepped up the pace and a great break from veteran centre John Murphy saw debut winger Keir Wenham-Flatt race over to score in the corner.

Whether it was the Cougars taking their foot off the gas or a great response from Rosslyn Park, the opposition struck back with a well worked try. The opposition were now in the ascendancy and scored another try which to everyone watching apart for the ref was a blatant knock on. The try was converted and at half-time the score was 17 - 12 to the Cougars.

Rosslyn Park were now really up for the challenge and started the second half at a furious pace and were awarded a penalty in front of the posts which also saw Andy Jack sin binned for a very dubious offense from a ref who wasn't having his best day at the office. The penalty was duly dispatched to make the score 17 - 15.

Increased pressure from Rosslyn Park yielded a couple more penalties which their fly half was unable to convert. Rosslyn park were now pushing for a score and only tough and determined defence from the Cougars kept them out. A turnover and a good passage of play saw flanker John Kane romp in to score under the posts and relieve some of the pressure. Andy Jack back on the field  and having a tremendous day with the boot again slotted the conversion.

The Cougars now looked a different side and started dominating play as Rosslyn Park grew increasingly desperate. Over exuberance from Rosslyn Park saw two of their players sin binned for constant infringement. Andy Jack slotted one of the penalties. This was all the encouragement the Cougars needed and another great line break from John Murphy saw Eoghan O'Sullivan crash over under the posts, Andy Jack once again converting.

A last desperate throw of the dice from Rosslyn Park resulted in them throwing a loose pass which was snatched up by Owen Price who ran the length of the field chased all the way by the Rosslyn Park no.8 to score under the posts. Andy Jack rounded off the scoring with the conversion.

A flattering scoreline in the end and the Cougars will need to play a lot better if they are going to win the league. honorable mentions go to Jon "Scouse" Harrison for stepping in at prop at the last minute, Brian Kennedy who moved from flank to 2nd row and put in a tremendous shift and Andy Jack who had his best day of the season with the boot converting 7 out of 8 kicks.
