The end of season newsletter published in early 1981 includes a latecomers' sales pitch for the Lourdes Tour.
THE 110TH SEASON EASTER TOUR LOURDES
Most of you will know the great work which Tom 'the teeth' Bereznicki and the tour committee have been doing. So here is the up-date news.
The dates: We will be leaving Wednesday evening 15th April and returning Tuesday
21st April.
Travel: Executive coaches - yes executive coaches. We have arranged two superb coaches with every conceivable facility. Never before will you have travelled on a tour in such luxury:
The Games: We anticipate fielding 3 teams on Friday, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Monday.
Social; French hospitality is legend for Ealing Tours - ask anyone who went to Paris or Dax in 1971. This year will be no different and we have arranged a Sunday trip to Biarritz (south west France's answer to Brighton!)
The Place: Lourdes is the famous religious town known throughout the world and who knows we may all see the apparition of The Virgin Mary particularly if we drink too much Ricard.
Over Easter each year there is a Festival of Easter Music and Sacred Art Festival. Lesser and Owen have already expressed an interest in this event. For those more culturally inclined there are discotheques and cinemas and one or two bars!
Lourdes is actually in the foothills of the Pyrennees with its own lake, castle, funicular railway.
The Hotel: Monsieur Vilon - Daniel to his friends and his staff await us at the Hotel Saint Catherine.
The Cost: A mere £105. Places are limited to 70, there are 5 or 6 spare so contact Tom right away.
