Ealing Cougars 31 - 19 Black Baa Baas
Date: 23-01-2010 14:00
Type: Match
Section: Adults

The Cougars started well and took control in the forwards, dominating the scrum, breakdown and contact areas allowing the half backs to release the backs on the front foot.

This produced a very clinical team performance making Baa Baas concede untold penalties due to pressure. This resulted in the team having total control, except in the lineout which was non functioning all game. The Cougars went in at half time 21-0 up with tries from James Elliot, Alex Hazell & Ash Gillard.

Possibly the best half of rugby played this season and showed clear dominance by the home side.

At the start of the second half Baa Baas came out fired up and put pressure on The Cougars, forcing them to defend their own line. The Baa Baas scored 3 tries during this period before The Cougars responded scoring twice in the second half through Luke Woodhouse and Owen Price to make the final score 31-19.

It was a satifying victory for The Cougars who were soundly beaten by the same opposition earlier in the season. This victory now leaves the Cougars with a very real chance of making the play-offs and with their destiny in their own hands.

Ealing Cougars entertain League Leaders London Welsh Occies next week in what will be another tough encounter at Vallis Way.
