On Friday 22nd May at 19:30pm Ealing Evergreens will play Ealing Exiles for the Evergreens Memorial Trophy. This event was launched by Damian a few years ago as a way to introduce recent 18 -23 year olds that had been through the youth ranks to the seniors setup. This match also provides the opportunity to remember club players and members who have passed on.
The Evergreens and Exiles provide the vehicle for this event which has now turned into an annual showcase where we blood new eligible youth players, welcome returning youth players, and provide an opportunity for older players to have a gentle(ish) run as well.
This promises to be a fun evening which includes:
- The match itself, which includes guest appearances from the Club’s 18-23 year old players, and perhaps a few cameo appearances from players from bygone eras.
- London Society referee
- BBQ and a chance to have a few beers with old and new mates.
This is a social as well as a competitive occasion which will also be attended by members of the families of those who have passed on, including Damian’s family.
So if you’re a regular or casual Evergreens or Exiles player, a past player or an up and coming young player and you fancy a run then contact Ricky with your details.
